Geensys introduces ControlBuild to DACH region

Geensys launches ControlBuild 2009 and introduces ControlBuild to DACH region

ControlBuild provides a comprehensive software environment for the design, development, validation, deployment and maintenance of control and automation systems and applications

Paris, Frankreich - 3rd March 2009.   Geensys, the specialist provider of embedded development tools, value-added embedded engineering/consulting services and embedded software IP, has launched ControlBuild 2009, a new and improved version of its front-to-back environment for the design, development, validation, deployment and maintenance of control and automation systems and applications.  At the same time, Geensys has announced the formal introduction of ControlBuild to the DACH region ( Germany, Austria and Switzerland) through Geensys’ direct sales and support offices in Munich.

ControlBuild is an innovative and highly integrated solution dedicated to the specific needs of control systems engineers that facilitates a holistic approach to the creation and implementation of automation applications and distributed control systems based on an object-oriented design approach.   ControlBuild enables control systems engineers to progress seamlessly through each phase of the application development cycle without the need to recapture data.   Not only does this eliminate the potential for design errors and save time but also facilitates the creation of homogenous and coherent design databases.

Key features and functions of ControlBuild include a variety of graphical interactive editors for component-based design covering IEC 61131-3, C and electrical circuit diagrams, a structured set of component libraries (electro-mechanical, handling objects with travel and detection rules, toolboxes, regulation filters and automatic control functions etc) and a simulation environment for control software validation prior to integration and commissioning.   It also includes automatic code generators for C and leading PLCs including those from Schneider, Siemens and Rockwell, and the automatic generation of project documentation.

ControlBuild is applicable to control and automation systems and application development across a diverse range of industries from automotive, manufacturing automation, pharmaceutical production, power energy, railway transportation, ship building and water treatment.   Major companies in France and China, including Actemium, Air Liquide, Alstom, China Academy of Railway Sciences, Dongfeng Motor, EDF, Lilly, Schneider Electric and Spie, are already using ControlBuild to significantly reduce cost, save time and improve quality of their automation software applications development.

ControlBuild 2009 introduces a variety of new features and usability enhancements to further improve development quality and significantly reduce development cost and time.   It incorporates a new hardware architecture manager to distribute embedded applications on heterogeneous systems, such as RT-controllers, PLCs and even simulated hardware targets with the automatic generation of all communication configuration files.   The ability to use simulated hardware targets helps developers significantly reduce deployment time.   In addition to its Siemens and Schneider PLC code generators, ControlBuild 2009 also now supports the Rockwell ControlLogix product family and the RS Logix 5000 programming tool. With ControlBuild 2009 embedded code generation is 100% faster and a new incremental model transformation algorithm fundamentally improves the loading time of an application after it has been changed or corrected.   There are also new communication options for Modbus TCP server and OPC server, an enhanced graphical user interface optimizing software usability, and a new XML file import/export capability for automatically executing a list of defined actions such as building a configuration or launching a simulation.

“ControlBuild has already been very successfully deployed in France and China by a variety of major corporations across a broad spectrum of industries for the creation of control and automation systems and applications.  Now it is available to control system engineers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with full support from Geensys’ direct sales and support operation in Munich,” said Rapha ë l All è gre, Geensys’ Product Marketing Manager for ControlBuild.   “Furthermore, ControlBuild 2009 introduces significant new features and functionality that enhance the flexibility of the tool suite, increase engineers’ productivity and improve the overall quality of the applications developed as well as continuing to deliver cost and time savings in the overall development cycle.”
